REPRESENTATIVES, ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Co-design & Service design
Student project 2025
5 weeks
Group with Eirik Fidjeland, Tiril Andrea Bennett & Esther Sigauke
In a co-design process over 4 workshops with actors involved in the process, looking into how we can protect the rights of unaccompanied minor asylum seekers in Norway. The workshops are the first step in LFBs 2 year project around this subject. Our group consisted guardians, child welfare services and Bymif. Participants of our workshops chose to focus on improving the roles of Representatives who follow the children through their asylum seeking process. Resulting in four future artefacts highlighting the challenges within todays system around the representative role and pointing direction for possibilities moving forward for LFB.
During this project we worked with sensetive topics, involving trauma, perceptions and social structures. I learned a lot about facilitating workshops, both exploring new ways of fostering creativity but also how to disarm and create space for sensetive topics. Over the 4 weeks our goup experienced balancing letting our workshop-group do the creation and decide the direction and us moving the project foreward between sessions. We also experienced the importance of supporting each other while working with such heavy matters.
The work will be brought foreward in LFB’s continuing work to protect the rights of minor unacompanied asylum seekers in Norway.
